Padel, gyms & pools near Antas, Porto: the measured map

How close the gyms, pools and padel courts really are to Antas — measured drive times to Solinca Dragão, Fitness Hut, Piscina de Campanhã and the padel and tennis clubs, with the honest limits a brochure leaves out.

Key findings

  • 01Measured by car from the parcel (OpenStreetMap routing / OSRM, June 2026): Solinca Dragão gym 2 min / 1.8 km, Fitness Hut Antas 3 min / 1.2 km, Clube de Ténis do Porto 5 min / 3.4 km, Padel Athletic Club 6 min / 5.6 km, Piscina de Campanhã 6 min / 3.6 km, Norte Padel 7 min / 6.9 km, Phive 7 min / 5.3 km
  • 02The genuine doorstep answer is the gym: Solinca Dragão (built into the Estádio do Dragão, with indoor pools and squash) is a 2-minute drive and Fitness Hut Antas, inside the Alameda mall, is 3 — two full clubs inside a 3-minute drive of the building
  • 03Swimming has a standout: Piscina de Campanhã, Porto's only 50-metre Olympic pool, is a 6-minute drive — but as a municipal-style pool it runs set public-swim and lane hours rather than all-day open water
  • 04Padel is booming in Portugal but is not in Antas: the nearest dedicated clubs are Padel Athletic Club (6 min, Ramalde) and Norte Padel (7 min) — a short drive across the city, not a walk, and peak slots book out

Why it matters: Active relocating buyers ask where they would actually train. From the parcel the answer is unusually strong: two big gyms built into the stadium precinct are a measured 2-to-3-minute drive, Porto's only Olympic pool is 6, and a 17-court tennis club is 5. Padel, booming across Portugal, is not on the doorstep but a genuine 6-to-7-minute drive. The honest detail still matters — courts book out at peak, municipal pools keep set lane hours, and membership prices vary by plan.

From the Privilege Gardens parcel the active set is genuinely strong, and the headline minutes are all measured: the Solinca Dragão gym is a 2-minute drive, Fitness Hut Antas 3, Porto's only Olympic pool at Campanhã 6, and the Clube de Ténis do Porto 5. Solinca Dragão 2 min · Fitness Hut 3 · Piscina de Campanhã 6 · CTP 5 · padel 6–7 — measured drives from the parcel. Padel is booming across Portugal, and the nearest dedicated courts — Padel Athletic Club 6 minutes, Norte Padel 7 — are a real short drive, not a doorstep walk. These are OpenStreetMap routing (OSRM) minutes, measured June 2026, not guesses.

I'm José Luis, and we are building Privilege Gardens in Antas, so read the disclosure at the end. I would rather give you the measured minutes and the honest limits — courts that book out at peak, municipal pools with set lane hours, prices that vary by plan — than sell you a court on the doorstep that behaves differently in practice.

How close the active set really is: measured drive times

We ran driving routes from the parcel at 41.169194, -8.588306 to each venue. The numbers below are real OpenStreetMap routing (OSRM), measured June 2026 — off-peak driving minutes and road kilometres, not straight-line distance.

The closest is the gym. The headline of Antas's active life is that two full clubs sit inside a 3-minute drive: Solinca Dragão at 2 minutes and Fitness Hut Antas at 3. The Olympic pool is 6, a 17-court racket club is 5, and even the nearest dedicated padel is inside 7 (OpenStreetMap routing / OSRM, June 2026). So 2 gyms, a 50-metre pool, a tennis institution and serious padel all sit inside a 7-minute drive of the parcel.

The doorstep answer: two gyms by the stadium

The genuine on-your-street story is fitness. Solinca Dragão is a full-service club built into the Estádio do Dragão precinct, a 2-minute drive and close enough to walk. Per NiT's report, it "spans 6,535 m² across 2 floors with gym, studios, squash courts, swimming pools, thermal tanks, and a spa" — so the nearest indoor lap pool to Antas is inside this gym, for members. It opens early: Monday to Friday from 06:00 to 23:00.

Right beside it, inside the Alameda mall, Fitness Hut Antas is a budget-chain club that opened in March 2025 — a 3-minute drive (1.2 km), with a 474 m² gym floor and 3 studios. Between them you have a full-service option and a low-cost option within a 3-minute drive of the building, which for an active household is the part that matters day to day.

Swimming: the Olympic pool at Campanhã

Swimming has a real standout one parish over. Piscina de Campanhã is, in Visit Porto's words, "the only Olympic-sized swimming pool (50 meters long) in Porto" — a 6-minute drive (3.6 km) from the parcel. The honest caveat: as a municipal-style pool operated by FC Porto, it runs set public-swim and lane hours rather than open all-day water, so check the timetable before you go. For members who want water without the schedule, the Solinca Dragão pools above are the 2-minute option.

Padel and tennis: booming, but a short drive away

Padel is booming across Portugal — aggregators list dozens of clubs in greater Porto — but none sit in Antas itself. The nearest dedicated courts are a genuine short drive across the city. Padel Athletic Club in Ramalde, with 14 outdoor courts, is a 6-minute drive (5.6 km); Norte Padel, with its academy and bar, is 7 minutes (6.9 km).

For tennis, and for padel under one roof, the anchor is the Clube de Ténis do Porto — a member-led club founded in 1968 with 13 tennis courts, 4 padel courts and a gym, a 5-minute drive (3.4 km). It is the most complete racket venue near Antas. Treat all of these as "a short drive across the city," not "on your street."

The honest limits

Here is the part a brochure leaves out. Three caveats run through the active set. First, padel courts book out at peak — evenings and weekends fill fastest, so the 6-to-7-minute drive only helps if you reserve a slot ahead. Second, the municipal-style pools have set lane hours: Piscina de Campanhã runs public-swim and lane timetables, not open water all day. Third, prices vary by plan — Fitness Hut advertises low weekly memberships, full-service Solinca quotes at reception or online, and padel is charged per court hour. We are not publishing firm prices we cannot stand behind; confirm the current rate and any joining fee with each venue.

The balance, fairly: for an active household the proximity here is unusually good — two gyms inside a 3-minute drive, an Olympic pool in 6, a tennis institution in 5, and serious padel inside 7. The doorstep facilities (the gyms and the Olympic pool) are the high-trust part; padel and tennis are the short-drive part. That two-sided truth is the honest read.

This piece is the active-set map; the wider picture of everyday life in the neighbourhood is set out in the guide on life around Antas. And because so many remote-working buyers pair training with a desk nearby, the companion measurement on workspaces is coworking near Antas.

A note on our interest

We develop in Antas, so we have an interest in how this reads. That is exactly why the drive times are first-party measurements from the parcel that anyone can re-run, the venue facts come from the venues' own sites and reputable reports, and where the honest answer is "padel is a short drive, not a doorstep court, and you should confirm prices," I have said so plainly.

  • Is there a gym near Antas, Porto?

Yes — two big ones within a 3-minute drive. By measured car time from the Privilege Gardens parcel (OpenStreetMap routing / OSRM, June 2026), Solinca Dragão, a full-service club built into the Estádio do Dragão with indoor pools and squash, is 2 minutes (1.8 km), and Fitness Hut Antas, inside the Alameda mall by the stadium, is 3 minutes (1.2 km). Both are close enough to walk for many residents; the measured figures are off-peak driving minutes.

  • Where can I play padel near Antas, Porto?

Padel is booming across Portugal, but no dedicated club sits in Antas itself. The nearest by measured drive from the parcel (OSRM, June 2026) are Padel Athletic Club in Ramalde, with 14 courts, at 6 minutes (5.6 km), and Norte Padel at 7 minutes (6.9 km). The Clube de Ténis do Porto adds 4 padel courts alongside its tennis, at 5 minutes. Treat padel as a short drive across the city, not a doorstep amenity, and book peak slots ahead — courts fill up.

  • Is there a swimming pool near Antas?

Yes. Piscina de Campanhã, Porto's only 50-metre Olympic indoor pool, is a 6-minute drive from the parcel (3.6 km, measured, OSRM, June 2026). It runs set public-swim and lane hours rather than open all-day water, so check the timetable. For members, the Solinca Dragão gym (2 minutes) has its own indoor pools — the nearest lap water to Antas.

  • Is there a tennis club near Antas, Porto?

Yes. The Clube de Ténis do Porto, a member-led club founded in 1968 with 13 tennis courts plus 4 padel courts and a gym, is a 5-minute drive from the parcel (3.4 km, measured, OSRM, June 2026). It is the most complete racket-sports venue near Antas, sitting in central-west Porto rather than in the neighbourhood itself.

  • How much do gyms and padel courts near Antas cost?

Prices vary by plan and venue, so we do not publish firm numbers we cannot stand behind. Budget chains like Fitness Hut advertise low weekly memberships, while full-service clubs such as Solinca quote at reception or online, and padel is usually charged per court hour. The honest advice is to confirm the current rate and any joining fee directly with each venue before you commit.
